Mom’s dementia was progressing to the point that she could no longer live alone. Moving her to our place was already going to be a big jolt to her. We needed to keep as many familiar things around her as possible. It was imperative that we find a company that understood how important this was. New York Long Distance Movers moved me with how caring and patient they were with my mother. I was grateful for the senior discount that they provided, but would have gladly paid extra for time and attention paid to my mother. Even letting her “supervise” the packing of her porcelain dolls with extra wrapping so that she would feel safe that nothing would be broken. I was most concerned with the loading and unloading of her concert piano. When we left New Haven, we felt secure that the items had been properly packed. When we arrived in Maples Florida, everything was unloaded, and I couldn’t find a nick or a scratch on anything.
Moving my accounting firm from Glen Cove to Manhattan was a large undertaking, and one that I had very little time to get done. I needed movers that were quick and efficient. Who understood my necessity to securely pack and transport confidential client files. In addition to disassembling and reassembling my office furniture, I needed to make certain that all computers were taken down and set up properly. The movers with New York Long Distance movers did an excellent job in providing all of these services to me. My office was up and running in within two days of arriving at our new location. I have serious doubts that I would have had as good an experience with any other moving company in the area. I know that I wouldn’t have received flat rate shipping from anyone else
Moving Masters are professionals in every sense of the word. We began seeking quotes several weeks before our move, and most of the places we dealt with didn’t give us the reassurance we needed to go forward. That or they were just plain rude. Moving Masters took the time to help us plan our move in detail before any actual furniture was dismantled. This was so important because we had to coordinate with another warehouse that was also moving into the same space. The guys figured out a system to pack the truck according to what would get set up first in the new space, and this saved us a tremendous amount of time and grief at the other end. They were able to reassemble our office in probably a quarter of the time we had allotted, so we ended up with free time on our hands, a luxury in our business. When my wife was offered a position in Boston, neither one of us even considered moving. The expense and the upheaval just seemed too enormous. Then I got laid off and we had no choice. Not sure how to say this but, I was feeling a lot of shame at the time about getting canned, and I wasn’t in the best mood. I called Moving Masters after firing another moving company that wouldn’t guarantee their rates and didn’t seem to have any personal investment in helping us. The guys (and gals) at Moving Masters were different right out of the gate. Just the way they responded immediately to all my concerns and didn’t talk down to me or my wife. Whether you want to call that good customer service, or just being a decent human being, they won my trust right away. My wife wanted to “go green” and Moving Masters made every effort to use recycled materials. I don’t know much about that stuff but she’s a stickler for it. Last thing I will comment, they didn’t get lost. I still can’t find the grocery store here, but Moving Masters got all our stuff in our door in one piece without any holdups. They are great to work with and I can’t thank them enough. 11/13/14
Relocating a legal practice is never easy. We have a lot of files and expensive file cabinets to move, and it HAS to be set up properly. NYLDM, came HIGHLY recommended by more than one of my colleagues when my partner and I decided to move our practice from Staten Island to Manhattan. The most important factor for us is that they took great care in properly packing and transporting our clients’ records. All of our files and desks arrived in pristine condition.
